Over the past few decades Philadelphia's City Hall has gone from icon to eyesore. In 1997, the city  began a restoration initiative for a building that took 30 years to construct. It would be a massive undertaking, and be handled over several phases.

Each phase has been awarded separately, and each time Crescent Iron Works has been entrusted with the responsibility of restoring these landmark cast iron pieces. In some cases, it has been necessary to reproduce the original cast iron castings.
