Acconci's Wave Chair

Crescent Iron Works teamed up with American sculptor, Vito Acconci, in creating these unique pieces of furniture at Philadelphia’s International Airport in Terminal B. This project presented many challenges, such as complicated layouts, large curved sections of plate hiding the support structure, size limitations for shipping and site logistics. All these challenges were overcome in producing this project, which affords many travelers a place to sit and unwind as the waves envelope them.
